The Parents Palace (父母宫, Fù Mǔ Gōng) is one of the twelve palaces of a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart. Parents, bosses, teachers, the state — every authority above you, and the inheritance they hand down.
What the Parents Palace governs
The Parents Palace covers the upward axis: your relationship with parents and, by extension, all authority — bosses, teachers, officials, institutions. It also reads inheritance in both senses: what the family hands down (genes, property, patterns) and what the state hands you (documents, credentials, legal standing — some schools call it the palace of papers). It sits opposite the Health Palace: the constitution is, literally, what you inherit.
How a reader reads this palace
Bright benefics read as supportive parents and authority that protects — bosses who sponsor, institutions that open doors. Malefics or Hua Ji read as friction upward: distant or demanding parents, authority that constrains, paperwork that bites. An empty Parents Palace borrows the Health Palace: the body itself tells the parents' story. Read with the Siblings and Children palaces, it completes the three-generation line: where you come from, who walks beside you, what follows you.
