Enter your birth data to calculate your authentic chart — the same pillars a traditional master would derive, by the 24 solar terms, in seconds.
BaZi (八字), the "Four Pillars of Destiny", is a Chinese astrological system over a thousand years old. It converts your birth year, month, day and hour into four pillars of two characters each — a Heavenly Stem over an Earthly Branch — then reads their elements, polarity and relationships to map your personality, timing and life themes. Your chart is one of over 500,000 combinations; the Day Master, the stem of your day pillar, is the character that represents you.
Each pillar governs a layer of life. A reading weighs all four together — the same star means different things in different positions.
Your Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of your day pillar. Find yours in the result above, then open its full profile below.
| Stem | Day Master | Essence |
|---|---|---|
| 甲 | Yang Wood | The towering tree — principled, grows straight, hard to bend, shelters others. |
| 乙 | Yin Wood | The climbing vine — adaptable, persistent, thrives by finding the right support. |
| 丙 | Yang Fire | The sun — warm, visible, generous with energy, cannot help shining on everyone. |
| 丁 | Yin Fire | The candle flame — focused, intimate, lights small rooms completely. |
| 戊 | Yang Earth | The mountain — immovable, trustworthy, carries weight others abandon. |
| 己 | Yin Earth | The garden soil — nurturing, productive, quietly makes things grow. |
| 庚 | Yang Metal | The raw blade — decisive, direct, cuts through what others negotiate around. |
| 辛 | Yin Metal | The refined jewel — precise, high-standard, notices every flaw including its own. |
| 壬 | Yang Water | The ocean — vast, restless, connects everything, cannot be contained. |
| 癸 | Yin Water | The morning rain — gentle, penetrating, reaches roots others cannot see. |
Ten Gods translate element relationships into life themes: Wealth (Direct/Indirect) is what you control and earn; Officer & Seven Killings are pressure, discipline and authority; Resource (Direct/Indirect) is support and learning; Eating God & Hurting Officer are your output and expression; Friend & Rob Wealth are peers — allies and competitors. The balance among them is what a full reading interprets.
Yes. The chart calculation — Four Pillars, Day Master, Ten Gods, Five Elements — is free and requires no account. A full 12-chapter AI reading written from your chart is optional and paid.
You can still calculate a chart — choose "unknown" and noon is used by default. The hour pillar shapes children, later years and inner motivations, so readings without it are less specific. Many people find their birth hour on a birth certificate or by asking family.
Use the solar (Gregorian) date from your birth certificate unless you specifically know your lunar birthday. BaZi months are defined by the 24 solar terms, not by either calendar's month boundaries — the calculator handles the conversion internally.
The Day Master (日主) is the Heavenly Stem of your day pillar — the character that represents "you". Everything else in the chart is read relative to it: the Ten Gods describe how other elements support, challenge, feed or control your Day Master.
Ten relationship roles between your Day Master and the other stems: Friend, Rob Wealth, Eating God, Hurting Officer, Direct Wealth, Indirect Wealth, Direct Officer, Seven Killings, Direct Resource and Indirect Resource. They turn abstract elements into money, authority, output, support and competition.
Think of it as a personality-and-timing map rather than a fixed verdict: how you react under pressure, where your energy leaks, which years favor expansion versus consolidation. What you do with the map is up to you.
