What Tian Ji actually is

Every chart has exactly one Tian Ji. It belongs to the Zi Wei series — 随紫微而动, "it moves with Zi Wei" — so its palace is derived from the emperor's seat and sits forever one step from the throne. Where Zi Wei decides, Tian Ji calculates; where Zi Wei is the main character, Tian Ji is the mind the main character consults. It is the second of the fourteen major stars, the fastest of them all, and — in a system that never separates character from fate — the one whose fate depends most on what it does with its own intelligence.
